John D. Strockis, President
John has both operational and business development responsibilities including running the firms day-to-day operations, team leadership, profit & loss responsibility, client relationships and executing on the companyâ€™s strategic plan.
John has 28 years of commercial real estate services experience including brokerage, brokerage management, executive management, investment advisory/acquisitions and asset management serving both private client and institutional customers.
Prior to joining Mar West Real Estate, John was Executive Managing Director of Voit Real Estate Services tasked with creating an Asset Management division supporting Banks, Special Servicers and Insurance companies that controlled distressed commercial real estate. In two years, John expanded the client base from 2 to 18 and assets under management from 1M SF to 8M SF. Under Johnâ€™s leadership, Voit Asset Services became widely regarded as the premier provider of third party distressed real estate services in the Western United States.
Prior to Voit, John worked for CB Richard Ellis for twenty-four years in three capacities:
- Top Producing office/investment broker for CBRE Riverside office.
- Brokerage Manager, Executive, Partner & Shareholder
- Investment Advisory â€“ Acquired $2B of commercial real estate in 5 years
At CB Richard Ellis, John won many awards including top producer in the Riverside office (1987) and Brokerage Manager of the Year (1998, 1999). John was selected by CBREâ€™s CEO & COO to lead corporate restructuring efforts in 2001 after CBRE was taken private by Blum Capital Advisors. John reported his progress directly to company Board of Directors. Additional responsibilities included leading 30 CBRE Affiliate Offices nationally, acquiring commercial real estate services firms and creating internal operational efficiencies to reduce company costs.
In 2003, John accepted the position of Senior Director â€“ Acquisitions at CB Richard Ellis Investors (the largest commercial real estate investment advisor globally) and lead a West Coast acquisitions team acquiring core, core plus, value-add and development properties. Annual transaction volume increased from $100M annually to $1B annually under Johnâ€™s leadership. Clients served included CalSTRS, Alaska Permanent Fund, CBRE Realty Trust, Orange County Employees Retirement System, Southwest Carpenters Pension Trust and Illinois State Employees Retirement System.
